Identities

Workshops 2015-2018, Montréal

Séverine Fontaine developed Identities project from 2015 to 2018. Un encounter with Quebec and several artists of her generation in Montreal. Based on a vision of a French woman, she began a research process to understand the mechanisms of protection and attack in intercultural relations. She invited authors from different communities to write a choral text and explore the unspoken words buried in us, transmitted consciously or unconsciously by ancestors, families, countries.

“How to go beyond the past to enter together into a process of repair? How to express violence, to explode speech that has been held back for too long, all these false beliefs that inhabit us and that still feed our anger? This is the story I have attempted to tell and experience with Identities” SF
