The company develops contemporary art and digital art projects in collaboration with arts presentation networks, for events and festivals in France and abroad.
IKB Co. has produced some fifteen works of art linked to defining projects that have been adapted as shows, performances and art installations. The theatrical creations incorporate the use of several forms of media. The light and sound installations are presented both indoors and in public spaces.
IKB Co. also works to promote artistic activities in schools, and for all people, affirming the creative abilities of every person, and the right of people in all regions to have access to art and creative endeavours.
Séverine Fontaine, the company’s artistic director works and lives in Lyon. To generate the company’s projects, she forms creative teams and works with collaborators from a wide range of fields in France and Québec.
The practice of interviewing is fundamental to her research process, and she regularly collaborates with scientists and researchers. Her experience with the very elderly and those approaching the end of life has had a decisive impact on her artistic development.
For several years, she has been developing installations and art pieces that trace the connection between human beings and light, including some projects of monumental scale. A truly multidisciplinary artist, she works as an actress, a director and an author, as well as on the scenographic design and conceptualization of her creations.
She is currently engaged in the development of new works of art combining creativity and interactive technologies, in writing a new joint France-Québec show, and in the creation of immersive video and sound installations.
